Week 18, Welcome Spring!

Weeks along? 18

Baby’s Size: Sweet Potato, 5.6 inches long, 6.7 oz.
Cravings: Ice Cream and Lemon Drops
Sleeping: Still sleeping well, and it’s getting better, I find bed time gets earlier and earlier for me
Maternity Clothes: Yes, realizing the belly band is not cutting it anymore.
Morning Sickness? I haven’t puked for a week! I am so excited!
Stretch Marks: No and I am religiously applying my stretch cream.
Movement: Oh yes! Baby Bowen is on the move, occasionally kicking but moving all the time.
Pains: Back pain still and swollen feet, can’t wait to get the clear for a massage.
Iny or Outy: Iny
Mood for the most part: Happy, unless I’m hungry, then don’t mess with me!
What you miss: I told Clint last night I have started to miss my Cherry Vanilla Dr. Peppers again, and whiskey on occasion.
Most excited about: Still excited for our big appointment May 9th! And for those of you who know how pencil straight my hair is, you can see my hair is turning a little wavy! Exciting!

HOME UPDATE:  Still shopping for the home. Market is running out of houses for all the buyers like us, so competition is fierce and frustrating for sure. Our new realtor Jesse is working hard and has shown us some great houses. Praying God sends us the right one in the right place and we can start to focus on planning for baby Bowen.

Week 16

Weeks along? 16

Baby’s Size: Avacado, 4.6 inches long, 3.5 oz.
Cravings:
BBQ, anything BBQ!
Sleeping:
Pretty well, although it never seems to be enough
Maternity Clothes: Not quite big enough for maternity clothes, but definitely getting use of the belly band
Morning Sickness:
Every morning still, if I don’t puke in the morning, I puke at night
Stretch Marks:
Nope
Movement:
I think I can feel butterflies every now and again
Pains:
Backaches, waiting on the ok for the chiropractor and a massage!
Iny or Outy:
Iny
Mood:
Pretty good, cranky at times and having some weirdo dreams that seem to influence the days mood
What you miss:
Now that we are doing the apartment living again, I’m sad I can’t enjoy the hot tub
Most excited about:
Our appointment on May 9 to see if it’s a "she bowen" or a "he bowen"! Since all our family lives so far away we will be having our gender reveal party via mail and skype! More details to follow…

HOME UPDATE: These past 2 weeks have been a crazy ride! We moved our house into storage and moved ourselves and the 2 dogs into a 900 sq ft apartment. It was a challenge, but we are here and hopefully only for a short while. However, it only took me 30 minutes to clean the apartment today vs. the 2 hours it would take me to clean our 2500 sq ft mountain home. Dogs are finally adjusting after waiting for 4 days for Charlie to defecate on the leash. Yes a necessary detail in this move as we were quite concerned about our constipated guy. People seem friendly and I feel that coming to the apartment will better help me adjust to city living once again. Still praying we find our dream home, or at least a home in the next couple months.

14 Weeks, Happy Easter!

I have decided I am terrible at posting. I will attempt to do better.
Our first appointment for baby Bowen was last Wednesday. Clint and I had made bets on how far along I was, so he said 12 weeks, I said 14 weeks. It was a mother's instinct, I knew I was right on.
Sure enough 14 weeks was the measurements we came up with. Surprising I had only gained 3 pounds in the 3 1/2 months, feels like 10! Baby Bowen was healthy and mobile as ever! Somersaulting and such, the coffee I drank that morning to wake it up probably didn't help either. Needless to say we only had about one picture that was even decent because it would NOT stay still. The one picture I will not forget was the crotch shot it gave us. I told Clint it was a sign that it's a boy, he was showing me his not quite yet formed penis. I've decided it's a boy, Clint isn't convinced.
On the other side of the world, the house side of our world, if I hadn't mentioned it our house got a cash offer a couple weeks ago. They only gave us 3 weeks to move in, so it's been a scramble to either find a house or an apartment. Neither has been much of a success, but we may learn what it would be like to raise a newborn baby in an apartment. The Denver housing market is quite competitive and unfortunately not too much to offer. But in the long run it will all be well.
